The city of Hailey is in the middle of the Wood River Valley between Ketchum/Sun Valley to the north (10 miles) and the Bellevue Triangle area to the south. It is home to the local Friedman Memorial Airport, Wood River High and Middle Schools as well as numerous family friendly neighborhoods that house the many locals that work in the valley. High end homes skirt the Big Wood River north and south of Hailey with great access to fishing and a resident elk population. Many canyons extend to the east and west around the City of Hailey all of which have their own appeal for camping, hiking, hunting, biking, or just getting the dogs outside. The population of Hailey is 8,575 (2020 Census) and it is the county seat of Blaine County. Rotarun Ski Area is a few miles to the west and Quigley Canyon a few miles to the east which is home to the Sage School and world class pump track and flow trails. There are an abundance of good shops, grocery stores, restaurants and hotels in Hailey. Hailey is home to the “Days of the Old West” Rodeo over the 4th of July which features a mock Old West ShootOut. Hiking the nearby hills of Carbonate, Red Devil Mountain or Della Mountain provide great views over the area.
